Over ons
Welkom bij het Hamersay Hotel. Ik ben Lorna en de naam van mijn man is John Docherty. In 2008 verhuisden we van de oostkust van Schotland naar de westelijke eilanden om het Lochmaddy Hotel over te nemen, wat ons 16 jaar ervaring in hoteleigendom opleverde.
In april 2022 hadden wij de mogelijkheid om Hamersay House te huren van de vorige eigenaren. Vervolgens hebben we in februari 2024 het hotel gekocht en ons eigen gemaakt. We hebben het van binnen en van buiten opgeknapt, en dit zal in de loop van de tijd doorgaan.
Let me introduce you to some of our staff:
Gareth- He has been with us in the hotels since January 2025 and works front of house serving breakfast and evening meals
Simon - He joined us in April 2024 and iwas initially with us for the season but he has stayed and now works in housekeeping.
Lewis: He is our son and has worked in the hotel industry since he was 14. After a 4-year break as an engineer in the Royal Navy, he has returned to work with us. He is versatile and can handle various roles within the hotel.
Eilidh—She is our daughter-in-law and Lewis's wife. She is the kitchen manager at Lochmaddy Hotel and also cooks some shifts at Hamersay. She is responsible for our excellent homemade cakes.
Courtney & Shauna: work front of house serving breakfast and evenening meals
Thomas - is John's brother and has been cooking at Hamersay for the past 18 months.
These are our main staff, but others may cover days off and holidays. They aim to ensure your stay is as comfortable and relaxing as possible. Please feel free to reach out to them if you need any assistance.
